Love Yorkshire

Always a warm welcome…

We love Yorkshire and have an absolute passion for building quality homes, so with a combination like that, it’s hard not to take a look at our developments.

Why choose Yorkshire though?  Well, if you’re familiar with the area, you’ll know the answer to that, but for those of you new to the concept of a Yorkshire home, then we’ve put together a few paragraphs to highlight just some of its many attributes.  There is no way we can cover everything that Yorkshire offers, but we can hopefully tempt you to find out more.

For starters, Yorkshire is in fact made up of four regional counties – North, South and West Yorkshire and the East Riding of Yorkshire.  It is rich in history, full of cultural delights and a foodies’ paradise with all manner of cuisine never far from your doorstep.  It is also home the to highest pub in England (the Tan Hill Inn), the oldest football club in the world (Sheffield FC), six National museums, two UNESCO World Heritage sites, 900 conservation areas, dozens of majestic stately homes, the oldest city in Britain (Ripon), the oldest visitor attraction, dating back to 1630 (Mother Shipton’s Cave and Petrifying Well), the first seaside town (Scarborough) and the oldest school in England (St Peter’s York 905 AD).

For travel, the entire region is blessed with excellent road and rail networks to take you wherever you want to go in the country.  Yes, the small country lanes do take a little longer, but they provide a stress-free meander that beats wall-to-wall motorway any day of the week!  For further afield, take a flight from Leeds Bradford or Humberside airports.

Fancy a day at the seaside?  Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Hornsea, Bridlington and umpteen little places up and down the coast each provide glorious views and buckets of fresh air.  Wide sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, picturesque working harbours, lighthouses, rockpools, surfing, puffins, dolphins, fresh crab salad, ice cream, fish and chips… and everything else you need for a fun-filled day with your family.

For countryside, you’ll be impressed by mammoth forests, deep valleys, rolling hills, heather-clad moorland, the wonderful Dales, waterfalls, rivers, lakes and just about everything else nature can throw at it.  Yorkshire sure is beautiful to look at… and it’s even better to call home!

For sports enthusiasts, there’s something for everyone, with many of the country’s top teams and events located here in Yorkshire.  Yorkshire-born sportsmen and women have become world-famous for their achievements, and it is a well-known fact that if Yorkshire had been a country, it would’ve been nineth in the medals ranking at the 2012 Olympics!

For retail therapy, again, you’re spoilt for choice with big city offerings, large shopping malls, high streets lined by independent shops and excellent craft and produce markets.
